The project is located in the Borana Zone of the Oromia National Regional State of Ethiopia and involves the construction of a 24.72 km long runway. The runway has a width of 40 meters, including a 30-meter-wide runway and a 15-meter-wide taxiway, with Asphalt Concrete pavement as the surface standard. Additional airport features include an apron area measuring 150 by 75 meters. The terrain classification is flat, making construction more straightforward. Delivered under a Design and Build contract, the project is financed by the Ethiopian Airports Group.
